Frank Lonergan, M.D.
Dr. Frank Lonergan is a family practitioner, certified by the American Board of Family Practice. In addition to completing eight years of education at Harvard University and Harvard Medical School, he has completed three years of specialty training in family medicine in his last year as chief resident. He has successfully passed the certification and recertification examinations of the American Academy of Family Practice. He is also a Diplomate and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice.
Dr. Lonergan has been honored in the past as the Outstanding Resident in his family practice residency. He was named Hospice Physician of the Year in 1999 and Honored with the Texas Health Resources Community Service Award for outstanding community service in 2000. He was honored in 2005, 2008, 2009 and 2010 as the outstanding Preceptor of the Year by the Physician Assistant Studies Class at the University of North Texas Science Center at Fort Worth. He was also recognized in 2007 as Top Doctor in Fort Worth, Texas magazine. In 2010, Dr. Lonergan received the 2010 People's Choice Award for Favorite Health Care Provider from Azle's Chamber of Commerce and 2010 Smartest Doc Award for ranking in the Top 50 Smartest Family Physicians in the United States.
Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistants
HealthFirst Medical Group is pleased to have several mid-levels as part of our health care team. NPs are registered nurses (RNs) who are prepared, through advanced education and clinical training, to provide quality care to individuals of all ages. Our NPs provide primary and some acute care, and are qualified to meet the majority of patients' health care needs. Physician assistants are highly skilled professionals who provide medical services that would otherwise be performed by a physician. Our physician assistants are under the supervision of our physicians and work diligently to provide quality care to every patient.
